Jerry Takigawa had a photography show at the Museum of Craft and Design in San Francisco. That museum’s executive director described his work as “showing us a quiet beauty, embodies a powerful purpose… ” The show was devoted to photos of artfully arranged pieces of plastic that had been recovered from the bodies of albatross birds that had mistaken our lethal trash for food. It ended there Jan. 19. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, selected photographs from that show, accompanied by text from his book Grace in Uncertainty, are assembled in a solo show at Green Chalk Contemporary, 616 Lighthouse Ave., Monterey, that opens 6-8pm this Saturday. It’s called False Food: A Metaphor for Survival.
